ONDARRE has been proclaimed the winner of the 50th SHEPHERD CHEESE CONTEST MADE WITH RAW MILK FROM LATXA OR CARRANZANA SHEEP, held in Ordizia on September 6th.
The cheesemaking house of ENEKO GOIBURU MURUA deservedly won the first prize after achieving a score of 2,734.50 for the great taste of their smoked cheese.
But that wasn’t the only joy of the day.
SC KORTARIA (2nd prize), JOSEBA INSAUSTI (3rd prize), ANDER BARANDIARAN (4th prize), and SC LOPERENA (5th prize) also received well-earned awards.
Other cheesemakers like PATXI LOPEZ DE URALDE, AIZPEA, LA LEZE, BAZTARRIKA, AZKARRA, ALBI, ZABALETA, OLAZARAN JUANIZ NEREA AND OLAZARAN ORMAZABAL ROBERTO SC, and ANDONI PADILLA BENGOA-AITOR URIBE SC completed the list of the 14 finalists.
